Ingredients
1 large bag tortilla chips (use sturdy chips for the best crunch)
2 cups shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
1 lb ground beef or shredded chicken (optional)
1 packet taco seasoning (for beef) OR 1 packet fajita seasoning (for chicken)
½ cup black beans, drained & rinsed
½ cup diced tomatoes
¼ cup sliced black olives
¼ cup chopped green onions
1 jalapeño, sliced (optional for spice)
½ cup sour cream (for serving)
½ cup guacamole (for serving)
½ cup salsa (for serving)
Directions
- Preheat Oven: Set oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cook the Meat (If Using): In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef or shredded chicken with seasoning until fully cooked.
- Assemble the Nachos: Spread tortilla chips in an even layer on the baking sheet. Sprinkle with cheese, black beans, cooked meat, diced tomatoes, black olives, and jalapeños (if using).
- Bake Until Melty: Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted.
- Add Fresh Toppings: Remove from oven and sprinkle with green onions. Serve with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
Notes
- ✅ For extra crunch, broil the nachos for the last 1-2 minutes.
✅ Want a healthier version? Use baked tortilla chips or swap chips for sweet potato slices or bell pepper strips.
✅ Make it vegetarian by skipping the meat and adding extra black beans or corn.
✅ Air Fryer Method: Assemble nachos in an air fryer basket and cook at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes.
