Ingredients
- For the Meatballs:
1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
- For the Sauce:
2 tsp fresh garlic (cloves), minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp corn starch + 2 tbsp water (for slurry)
Optional: white rice, sesame seeds, or green onions for garnish
Directions
- Make the Meatballs:
Preheat oven to 400°F. Mix all meatball ingredients in a bowl. Roll into 1.5-inch balls and place on a lined baking sheet. - Bake:
Bake for 15–18 minutes or until fully cooked through. - Make the Sauce:
In a skillet, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, water, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer. Add cornstarch slurry and stir until thickened. - Coat the Meatballs:
Add cooked meatballs to the sauce. Toss gently to coat. - Serve:
Plate over rice, noodles, or serve with toothpicks as an appetizer. Top with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
