  • Prep the Beef:
    Toss sliced steak in cornstarch until evenly coated. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  • Make the Sauce:
    In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, water, garlic, and ginger. Set aside.
  • Sear the Beef:
    Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high. Sear steak in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until crisp and browned. Remove and set aside.
  • Combine and Simmer:
    Pour sauce into the skillet. Bring to a simmer, then add cooked beef. Stir and simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the meat.
  • Serve:
    Plate over white rice and garnish with green onions or sesame seeds.
