Ingredients
4 salmon fillets (skin-on for best grilling)
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup honey
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar (or lemon juice)
1 tbsp butter, melted
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp grated fresh ginger
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
2 tbsp chopped green onions
2 cups steamed rice or roasted veggies
Directions
- Make the Glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, melted butter, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside. - Prep & Grill the Salmon:
Pat the salmon fillets dry and season with salt and black pepper. Brush with olive oil. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (375-400°F). Place salmon skin-side down and cook for 4-5 minutes, then flip and grill for another 3-4 minutes. - Glaze & Finish:
Brush the honey garlic glaze over the salmon in the last 2 minutes of grilling. Let it caramelize slightly but avoid burning. - Serve:
Remove from the grill and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve with steamed rice or roasted veggies.
Notes
- No grill? Use a cast-iron skillet and cook the salmon the same way.
For extra caramelization, broil for 1-2 minutes after grilling.
Swap rice for cauliflower rice or a side salad for a lighter option.
